Women represent just over a quarter of the UK STEM workforce
A recently published report by the APPG on Diversity and Inclusion in STEM* evidenced that women represent just over a quarter (27%) of the UK STEM workforce – with little by way of regional variation. This compared to 47% female representation across the whole UK workforce.

Our recommendation
Enhancing the integration of flexible working hours and locations, coupled with well-defined qualification pathways, structured career advancement programs, comprehensive training, and dedicated mentorship initiatives, is paramount. By studying successful implementations of these practices in other organisations, we can glean invaluable insights into sustaining gender balance.
