Focus on Cloud & infrastructure

In the realm of cloud and infrastructure talent acquisition we are seeing the landscape shifting yet again, and to be successful in hiring in these areas organisations need to adapt in response to secure top talent effectively.

We saw a 28% reduction in applicants for cloud positions between October to December vs the previous three months, making identifying talent for these roles increasingly challenging.

This has had the knock on effect of Cloud and infrastructure roles being our quickest time to hire from live position to 24 days in a permanent role. Additionally, salaries tend to be above the UK average with the current average Cloud salary placed being £57,455 and the average DevOps salary being £67,978p/y. From a contract perspective, the average daily rate outside IR35 is £550 for Cloud and £665 for DevOps.

With 47%* of Cloud and DevOps consultants applying for roles on their mobiles, it is so important that job adverts render well on mobile devices along side containing all salient information such as salary and flexible working.

In the past three months, retail giants have emerged as significant players in the recruitment of cloud and infrastructure talent. Notably, insights reveal that Sainsbury's leads the pack, securing the highest number of hires in this period.
