The Defence & Security Vacancy Boom is subsiding but certainly not bursting...
2022 saw an unprecedented rise in demand for STEM skills in the Defence & Security sector, salaries have grown significantly and competition for the best talent was at a peak.

Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Leonardo and Babcock are all advertising significantly less.

So the demand appears to have reduced but how does it compare to before the 2023 demand bubble?
Defence & Security advertised vacancy demand is still higher than all of the period between 2021 and September 2022.
But is it really true that demand is lower now than at the start of 2023?
We know that many companies, especially the biggest, often don’t advertise all their vacancies and are increasingly moving to advertise job families for niche STEM talent.
Matchtech continue to experience similar levels of vacancy flow and the demand from Defence & Security companies on the whole remains unchanged.
So, whilst it may appear that the vacancy boom is subsiding, the demand continues at huge levels and competition remains fierce.
