Exclusively delivering on Vitality's Windows 11 rollout.
Vitality's situation.
Vitality, a leading UK health and life insurance company, provides award-winning cover to 1.7 million members. To reliably serve their members, Vitality relies on up-to-date and unfailing technology that helps deliver their trusted service.
To aid this, Vitality sought a partner capable of managing the recruitment of Windows 11 Rollout Engineers so they could commence their Windows 11 rollout project across multiple sites in Bournemouth, Stockport and London. The project will be rolled out at one location at a time with an estimated timeline of Spring 2024-Summer 2025. However, with the number of engineers they require not being determined until the project in each location commences, they needed a partner that could be flexible and scalable where required to ensure all requirements could be met.
Vitality were impressed with Matchtech because:
1. We could outperform their existing suppliers.
Vitality shared their struggles in filling a Desktop Support Manager position through their existing supply chain and engaged Matchtech to recruit for this position. We quickly filled the position within the right timeframe for Vitality despite valuable lost time.
2. Our work in ED&I set us apart from other suppliers.
From the first meeting, we demonstrated a strong commitment to ED&I which aligned with Vitality’s internal goals of addressing management imbalances. They also valued our approach of presenting diverse candidate shortlists.
3. They have valued, trusted experiences with us.
Having worked successfully with Vitality in previous projects, we already had strong relationships with key stakeholders and have proven our professionalism and success.
Having been impressed by our efficiency, Vitality engaged Matchtech as their exclusive partner to deliver their Windows 11 Rollout Engineers in Spring 2024, starting with six engineers at their Bournemouth location. Following the completion of this location, we begin recruitment for Stockport in January 2025 and are expected to finalise the rollout in London by June 2025.

Beyond this project, we have been delivering a range of added value services to Vitality through diverse shortlists, event invitations and added recruitment support:

Tech events & industry collaboration: Matchtech welcomed Kribashnee Moodley, Head of Software Engineering at Vitality, to speak at our Code to Command event about the transition challenges in moving from a technical role to a leadership role. Kribashnee shared a positive statement on LinkedIn, thanking Matchtech and Jamie. She wrote: “Thanks Jamie Spencer for believing in me! This event will always be super special to me – learning and growing out of my comfort zone, and being able to motivate and inspire others in our Tech industry!”

Additional roles: Besides the Windows 11 rollout, we have successfully filled ad hoc permanent roles, including Desktop Support Manager and Product & Architecture positions.

Collaborating with them to address ED&I imbalances: Vitality wanted to address the ED&I imbalance in management position and were inspired by our commitment to this topic. We provided ED&I-focused shortlists and actively worked on promoting gender diversity within Vitality’s tech teams, introduced them to our Limitless in Tech network - an internal initiative for women in the industry - promoted diverse shortlists and educated them on unconscious bias. We conducted a diversity data capture on new applicants through diversity capture forms to establish a baseline and identify areas for improvement.
We delivered all requirements for Vitality’s Windows 11 Bournemouth rollout by October 2024 and are commencing the Stockport rollout in January 2025, with the project expected to finish in London by June 2025.
Exceptional client feedback.
Jos Gilvear, Head of Technology Operations at Vitality, praised Matchtech’s efficiency, candidate quality, market insights, and strong communication throughout the project. Jos specifically highlighted how Matchtech saved time and added value by providing candidates that fit both the skill and budget requirements:
“Having had a previous relationship with Matchtech in former workplaces I knew they, as an organisation, were an effective supplier. I found myself in a predicament whereby existing partners were unable to source the right fit for a managerial role I needed to fill and I had lost a lot of time through the process. On engaging and briefing Matchtech they sourced a number of candidates that hit the right level at the price point discussed, provided feedback on what may influence a different type of candidate within the job description and some great perspectives on market conditions. Jamie was engaged throughout the process and supported me in keeping candidates warm while some of our internal processes were navigated. Thanks for your continued support.”
