Advanced/Level 3
Whilst Advanced/Level 3 Engineering & Manufacturing apprenticeship starts across England have rebounded to close to post-pandemic levels (reaching c.30,000 in 2022/23), women starts at this level remained at a stubbornly low 7%.
Higher level
In contrast, higher level Engineering & Manufacturing apprenticeship starts across England have continued to rise and, whilst declining from a near-term peak of 24% in 2020/21, women’s representation was 22% in 2022/23.
