Limitless in Tech was born from a deep and genuine commitment to ED&I and empowerment in partnership with The Talent Tap, a social mobility charity dedicated to supporting underrepresented groups access careers in STEM. Through this partnership, we work directly with young individuals who often face barriers entering STEM sectors.
How Limitless in Tech was born
In 2022, we launched our internal ‘women’s network’ designed to support and elevate women in our business through community, mentorship, and events. By recognising the positive impact and growing demand, Limitless in Tech was born as one of our external brands.
What began as a heartfelt collaboration with our charity partner, The Talent Tap, has grown into a meaningful movement. Limitless in Tech emerged from an impactful journey of one of our candidates, Holly, who secured a competitive internship with our support. What started as CV guidance and mock interviews quickly evolved into broader outreach, reaching 30+ university students at a time.
The Spark: Holly Knowles' story
Our journey gained a personal investment when Danny, our Head of Technology, met Holly through The Talent Tap. Holly was seeking support in breaking into a competitive niche area of the STEM sector. We provided one-on-one guidance through:

CV support
We helped Holly restructure her CV to highlight her strengths, transferable skills, and relevant experiences. By aligning her CV with the expectations of the employer in her chosen STEM field, we gave her a competitive edge in a skill-short market.

Interview preparation
To prepare Holly for her interview, we conducted mock interviews, provided targeted feedback and coached her to articulate her experiences with confidence. We also offered insights into common industry-specific questions and helped her with forming a response.

Building her confidence
Beyond practical skills, we helped Holly build her self-belief by acting as mentors and sounding boards. Through continuous encouragement, setting realistic goals, and celebrating small wins, we helped her shift from self-doubt to self-assurance.
With this tailored support, Holly successfully secured an internship, an achievement that served as a turning point for both her and our growing initiative.
Inspired by her own experience, Holly invited us to deliver a workshop at the University of Glasgow, focused on practical employability skills and insights into careers in tech. Over 30 students attended this event leading to invitations from other universities which allowed us to scale our outreach and inspire even more students across the UK.

Speak to the expert...
Megan, Principal Consultant, spearheads our Limitless in Tech events. She is a passionate advocate for diversity in tech and has taken the lead on our Limitless in Tech events for Matchtech.
Here’s what Megan has to say about how Limitless in Tech can shape the future of diversity in the tech industry:
“One of the key reasons I joined Matchtech was to Lead our Limitless in Tech brand because when I heard the story behind it I felt genuinely inspired. The aim for this event is to really give back to the community whether that is donating to causes such as Code First Girls, or just for each person to genuinely take away one piece of career changing advice. I want Limitless to be an inclusive environment where all levels of the tech community can ask questions and advice and a safe space is created to spark this discussions.”
